Round and Round in Malaga

On my first big trip to Spain, a friend and I headed south. Madrid, and then down to the bottom of the country towards Gibraltor. We rented a car, which was a big deal. For us, at least. We did not know how that would go--driving around in a country where we didn't speak the language and all. We read up on the town in our travel books. We learned that Malaga was the birthplace of Picasso, but that he didn't care for it much. And there was crime there. And there was a roundabout in the middle of town, where if you got in it, it was hard to get out. Well, guess what? We got in it, and we had a hard time getting out of it! The traffic was just such that it was hard to do. No crime though, which was good for us. We didn't spend the night there, but if we had, we could have stayed in one of the charming Malaga Hotels. Next time, I will do that for sure!

A number of years later, when I was visiting a friend in Prague, I would have loved to have stayed a while longer and go with her on a sidetrip to Romania. But my schedule with school would not allow it. She going there on business and was able to stay in one of the very nice Bucharest Hotels.

When I visited my friend in the Czech Republic, she had her own apartment in Prague and I was able to stay there. Had that not been the case, I saw a number of charming Prague Hotels, which would have been nice places to stay.
