Shopping For A Smart Phone

My contract with ATT allows me to get a new phone once every two years. That time is now, and I am so excited! I want to get a smart phone, because there are so many things I need to do with it. I need to text, check email, surf the net, plus have some extras. I do not know yet what kind of free phone I can get. But if I want to get one of the primo ones, I might have to pay some. Not sure yet. The ones I am thinking about include the iphone, some blackberries, may the blackberry bold 9700, or an android. There are so many things to think about--how I can make the right decision and get the best product.

Wanting An Electric Fireplace

My living room is small and cozy. I have to be careful when I buy new items, because I dont' have much room and I need to have things match and make sense. One thing I think I would like is an infrared heater or electric fireplace. It would not only make the room cozy but warm, and would save on heating bills. I have a few friends who have them, and they are really nice. Some look like a real fireplace, with logs and flames and everything. I don't want the kind with fuel canisters though, because they are messy and smell funny. I think an electric or infrared would be just the thing.

Clean Carpets Are A Must For Company

As I mentioned in my previous post, pet are very important, and vital to me, but they come with a price. Often they make a mess on the floor or carpet. I just got some new carpet installed, and my cat has made it her new pl;aything. I wish I had gotten some kind of spray right of way that would keep her away from clawing at it. I may have to replace a section of the carpet, and it is not even six months old! I was talking to a friend of mine in North Carolina last night, and she has a dog that often messes in the house. She said she was going to have to find some raleigh carpet cleaning business to help her clean her rugs. She thinks it is too bad for her to do it herself. She is having a large dinner party soon and has to have her place immaculate. That includes not having messy carpets. She said she would be way too embarrassed to have the guests if she didn't get a professional carpet cleaning company. I told her I am sure she can find someone good to come help her.

Pets Are Messy And Expensive, But We Love Them Anyway

I love my dog and two cats beyond words. They are so sweet and lovable. But they create messes and cost me money. I just had my carpet replaced, and already one of my cats has shredded an area with her claws. Talk about a waste of $800! But she is so cute......

My cousin in Austin just got a puppy and guess what? It is urinating on his rugs. Big surprise. I had to deal with that with my dog too. If you catch it quick enough and clean it well enough, you can save the carpet. I couldn't keep an area rug, because he wet on it too much, and the dog sitter didn't catch it.

Sometimes I would rent a cleaning machine to clean the carpets, and it worked well. I told my cousin he should do that. He said he would look into renting steam machines from the local grocery stores, rug steam cleaner austin, (I think their website is http://www.thesteamteam.com/) Stanley Steamer, and some of those other places that come do it for you, or where you can rent and do the cleaning yourself

But meanwhile, we will fuss at our pets and act angry, but be so very happy they are in our lives.

Looking For Lounge-Around Clothes

When I am not feverishly working at one of my four or five jobs, I want to seriously relax. And I am wanting some serious "relax" clothes to chill out in. I have been noticing that more and more people are wearing scrubs for pajamas and hang out clothes. I found that to be funny and unusual at first, until I looked at some of the more modern scrubs for women. They are darn cute! I have seen them here and there to buy and have noticed that they aren't our parents' scrubs anymore.

I particularly like the ones that are made to wear when working with children. Some of those scrubs have cartoon characters and fun things that may help make a child feel less frightened or scared when at the doctor's office or hospital.

And scrubs look like they would be really comfortable to sleep in--another consideration. And not too hot. Also important. I may get some to wear around the house! I am going to check out http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/ and some other sites to see if they have anything I would like to wear!

Man Caves

I used to read all of Mars and Venus books, which talks about how men are from Mars, and Women are from Venus. It is all about how men and women communicate and look at the world differently. One thing that men do that drive women crazy is to go into their "man caves." As learned in the books, this usually happens when men need to think about something. Women take this as a bad sign--that they are tired of them, and then they can overreact, which can ruin the situation. Sometimes, men will come out of their man caves with the problem solved and will then pick up where they left off. What do men use in their men caves? Maybe some ManCave gifts. But that is one of the mysteries of the man cave. We women will really never know what they need or have there.

Soccer Gifts For My Nephew

My nephew plays soccer and really loves it. He also follows soccer teams on TV. I used to date a guy who was affiliated with a UK soccer team, and he brought my nephew a shirt signed by all the soccer players. That meant so much to my nephew! So I am wondering what I can get him for his birthday this year. I am wanting to get him some soccer gifts--maybe some mini soccer balls of his favorite teams or other such gifts. I am hoping he will continue on with his soccer playing. College is in the not too distant future, and maybe there could be a soccer scholarship in his future.

Working On My Disability Cases

I have about two months until my next disability hearing before an administrative law judge, and I realize how much reading I need to do to get up to speed. It has been a while since I have had a case, and of course, every case is somewhat different, so I need to dig in and read up. I got some great books about disability law strategy and I have started reading them, but I need to get back to it. It is amazing how fast time can fly, and boom, there is the hearing! Hopefully, the judge will award benefits based on the hearing, but if not, we can always do a disability appeal. I love this area of law and would love to increase my caseload!

Urban Homes, Urban Restaurants, Urban Clothes

There is an area in my city that is not quite downtown, but is sort of midtown that is so cool, so hip, so now! Well, OK, that sounds like I am talking "60s talk," but it is true. It used to be an area of warehouses and failed businesses, but now is home to a number of high rise condos and apartments that are urban chic. The area also has some of the newest and best restaurants, and one of the area's coolest night spots. A part of my high school reunion was held there last year, and it left such a good impression on those from out of town. They couldn't believe there was such a cool spot now in our hometown. The area also has a very cool grocery school and an urban clothes store too. I walked through there the other day, and it was fun just browsing. I am proud of how my city has grown up and is so interesting now.

My Cousin's Anniversary

I was at my cousin's house last night and she reminded me that her wedding anniversary was coming up. I had totally forgotten! We were talking about how they are going to celebrate and she is thinking they may take a trip out of town. She was talking about what kind of anniversary gifts for him she might want to get. I told her maybe the trip would be enough. I wonder what he is getting for her for the anniversary? I am sure it will be something nice. He is very generous.
