Where Does All This Anger Come From?

Three more episodes of going postal again this week. The shooting of two teachers at a school in Knoxville, where a friend of mine works, the Huntsville shooting, and now the plane crashing into the building in Austin. Not to mention that the pilot set his house on fire to kill his wife and daughter before doing his dirty deed. What is wrong with people?

The other thing to note is that none of these have been kids. We are now seeing these criminal acts being done by people in their 40s and 50s. What gives? Kids seem to become violent when they feel isolated or have been bullied over a period of years. Adults seem to attack when their jobs or financial security have been derailed, except for the Pittsburgh shooter, also in his 40s, who shot up a gym because he couldn't get a girlfriend. We as a nation need to get serious about what is causing all of this anger and how to get people to manage it better.

The economy is going to take a while to improve, the boomers continue to age and therefore may have a harder time finding jobs, and things are not necessarily going to be rosy like we thought they would be. But don't get violent and hurt other people because of it! With as many angry people like this walking around, and not giving a clue as to their deranged mental state, we can only hope we are not in the wrong place at the wrong time, when someone else goes off.
