Updating Insurance

I was looking at some ads for life insurance today and saw that there are some companies that offer life insurance no medical exam options. That is a good deal. Then you don't have to worry about getting denied. I guess some people might even have medical problems that they don't know about until that medical exam. So, that is the way to go, I think.

Playing In The Basement

I have only had one basement in my life, and that was at my Meme's and Pepe's house. I lived with them the first eight years of my life, and I loved it there. I loved the basement--it was finished out and contained my Pepe's office, the laundry room, an empty room where the water heater was, and the great room, where all of my toys were. I would ride my bike throughout the basement. So much fun! I remember they would run a basement dehumidifier down there. I miss that house, and Iwould love so much to buy it back.

Killer Whale

The news about the death of the trainer at Seaworld was shocking. Killed by a killer whale. Yes, you have to remember that animals such as that are wild, and they are just acting out their nature. But still shocking as it took place at Seaworld, with people watching, and the trainer had worked with the whale for a long time. Just doesn't seem like something like that would happen--so sudden and swift. It reminds me of the death of the woman at the Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, TN. The elephant knocked her down and stepped on her in a split second. So hard to come to grips with.

My Joints Are Feeling Great

For a while last year, my joints, particularly my ankles, felt awful when I would first stand up. I would feel like I would hobble for a few seconds and then things would be OK. Not only was i uncomfortable, it was embarrassing. I am too young to have that happening. But am I? Several people in my family have suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, so I could certainly have it too, or get it at some time in the future. All I know is that I have felt better. Maybe I have just lost enough weight that it has made the difference.

Wanting To Get A Netbook

My poor ole computer is on its last legs, and I want to get a netbook. I like the small size, the lighter weight, and the smaller price! I like to watch streaming video, so I need to make sure that I can find one that can do that. I have to admit I like the cherry red ones! I'll just have to look at the ads, surf the web and try to find the deal of the day. I am probably going to use some of my tax refund to buy it.

I Love The Olympics

This is the first year I have really watched the Winter Olympics (I am a Summer Olympics nut) and I have utterly enjoyed it! Watching Shaun White, the cat fight between Lindsey and Leslie, and the coach who told his student to change lanes erroneously. All good stuff. And of course the death of Norad was horrific. How very sad. Who would have thought something like that would have happened. I love the Olympics so much, I am hoping to become a volunteer. I applied too late to volunteer at the Greek Olympics, but maybe I will get lucky with London 2012.

Where Are All The Jobs?

Things are scary out there today. I am wondering where all the jobs are and when they are coming back. I am so fortunate--I have a job--but it is probably not a good one for me--and I am wanting to think about moving on. But when I check around, there are still hardly any openings. I feel very sympathetic for those who were let go a while ago and still have no signs of a getting a new one. They may not have kept up their skills. I have done a good job at keeping up my skills, so when jobs open back up, I may not have that much trouble finding another one.

When Men Want To Know What To Get Their Women

Even though I did get two bouquets recently (another online match gone wrong) I didn't get any for Valentine's Day. I can't help but be a little sad about that. I really want to meet the right guy and soon! Sometimes men friends will ask me what would be unique gifts for her--their girlfriends. I always tell them to start paying attention to what she says she likes and what she tends to gravitate to. But flowers are always good too! And you can never go wrong with handmade items either.

Ask Your Doctor If Enzyte Is Right For You

Imagine asking your doctor if enzyte is right for you and not knowing that it was a male enhancemet drug! Wouldn't that be embarrassing! I wonder if doctors have really gotten their share of those questions that TV commercials encourage you to ask. But I guess only a moron would ask a doctor about a drug that they don't know anything about! At least I hope so.

Kim Kardashian and Quick Trim

I saw Kim Kardashian on TV the other night, and she mentioned Quick Trim in a way that I think she must be using it. Maybe even endorsing it. I couldn't tell. I think it was on the Joy Behar show. Joy said something, and Kim yelled out quick trim! If she takes and looks that good, that is enough of an endorsement for me! I need a lot of help in losing weight and getting in shape right now.

Help--I Need To Lose Weight Fast!

I know I have said this before on this blog, but this time I must act. I can no longer tolerate my image in the mirror. Really! I wish I could get some fast weight loss tips. I tried a four-day diet about a month ago, and it seemed to work, at least a little, but I put the weight back on when I went on vacation the following week. I am going to the grocery this weekend and buy the items so I can do the four-day diet again next week. Wish me luck!

Don't Like Signs Of Aging

I hate to admit it, but I am getting older. What I hate even more than the older number are the signs of getting older. I have been pretty lucky so far--I look younger than I am. I don't know how long this will last (hopefully forever). I notice age spots on some of my older friends' hands and hope I don't get them. I know there is such a thing as age spot removal, but I just don't want to have to deal with it anytime soon.

Adult Acne--What To Do About It?

A friend of mine is absolutely beautiful: tall, thin, and blond--you get the picture. I would hate her if I wasn't crazy about her as a friend. But she says she has acne, even though for the life of me I can't see it. She must cover it up well with makeup. She has been asking around about adult acne treatments, and I have to say I don't know anything about, because I don't have acne now. She goes to the dermatologist, but so far nothing has worked. I am sure she will have some kind of treatment.

Time To Review Insurance

I need to spend a little time soon going over my financial life, what there is to speak of, and getting things in order. I need to review my car insurance, life insurance, homeowners insurance, and see if I can get better rates. I need to lower my expenses, and I might be able to do that through lower insurance rates. I also need to look into disability insurance. Can't believe it is not offered at my workplace.

Where Does All This Anger Come From?

Three more episodes of going postal again this week. The shooting of two teachers at a school in Knoxville, where a friend of mine works, the Huntsville shooting, and now the plane crashing into the building in Austin. Not to mention that the pilot set his house on fire to kill his wife and daughter before doing his dirty deed. What is wrong with people?

The other thing to note is that none of these have been kids. We are now seeing these criminal acts being done by people in their 40s and 50s. What gives? Kids seem to become violent when they feel isolated or have been bullied over a period of years. Adults seem to attack when their jobs or financial security have been derailed, except for the Pittsburgh shooter, also in his 40s, who shot up a gym because he couldn't get a girlfriend. We as a nation need to get serious about what is causing all of this anger and how to get people to manage it better.

The economy is going to take a while to improve, the boomers continue to age and therefore may have a harder time finding jobs, and things are not necessarily going to be rosy like we thought they would be. But don't get violent and hurt other people because of it! With as many angry people like this walking around, and not giving a clue as to their deranged mental state, we can only hope we are not in the wrong place at the wrong time, when someone else goes off.

Tea Party Invades Nashville

Oh oh, the fringe group the Tea Party has invaded Opryland Hotel in Nashville. Sarah Palin is going to deliver the keynote speech in an hour or so. That will be fun to watch. It will be interesting to see what develops. Some people are saying that the Tea Party is an independent party. It is nothing like an independent party. It is just the Republican Party with extra fringe. If anything, it is just going to splinter the republican party even more. And they are saying that democrats will join? How delusional is that?
